I’m a superficial Gal. Lolz
I remembered earlier today, my boss was asking us to lend her books to read when she goes on her “around-the-world-in-two-weeks” business trip. Images of the books I own and love flashed across my mind. Then suddenly, I realize I’m so superficial!!! Haha
I realize I choose books with their cover pages as the first criteria lol.
Besides the Dan Brown books and my precious LOTR (the book is with Ming so I can’t take a photo of it), here are two more of my precious books.

I’ve seen copies of Memoirs of a Geisha many times but this cover really caught my eye. I love the simplicity of the photograph. White with a dash of red. The photograph is so cleverly constructed. Seductive! (it certainly seduced me!) There are so many books in the bookstore, usually only a few catch my eyes. Those few, with covers that appeal to my tastes, are those that make it to my bookshelf at home.
I suppose I’m not alone in this superficial trait of mine. (whoever disagree can raise their objections) I’m sick of hearing people claiming that looks aren’t important when they choose their partner. More accurately, looks aren’t the critical criteria. Looks play an important part in making the first impression well… impressionable.
Now, taking a woman’s point of view, looks are really not THAT important. Usually in the dating game, the guy woos the girl. The guy wins the heart of the girl by his actions and perseverance. (usually with doing sweet things, showering her with care and concern)
The guy however, doesn’t get woo-ed (well, traditionally speaking). Therefore, one of main determinants to whether he woos her or not…. *drum roll* is her looks (and ya, perhaps character).
Face it, probably visual appeals matter more to the average man than woman.
Perhaps this is why women’s magazines are all about making themselves look better and men’s magazines are all about which woman looks better.
