Esplanade like you've never seen it before
Went with Nicky today to Esplanade for a walk and to get a feel of the National Day Patriotism and celebration mood. Esplanade was so different!!!
THERE IS AN OUTDOOR ROCK CONCERT!!! OMG. hahaa
I stood around listening to the singing. I couldn't catch the name of the band but they did sing pretty well. I especially liked her rendition of No Doubt's 'Just a Girl'. I was about to leave the stage area after 4 or 5 songs when I noticed something really interesting.
When I turned, I saw two raised podium platforms that are lighted from within. There are actually dancers dressed up as DEVILS dancing on it! lol. Two dancers on the podiums, two on the ground mixing with the crowd. For a moment I thought, "Thats it.. the goverment ministers have all gone senile. Mid-riff baring dancers dressed as devils?!?! Awesome!" Its something so different and refreshing. They are minglers. Really cool!
After the dancers left, I hung around for one more song before I started walking back to the outdoor concert area. Whoa! I see flame dancers!!! WOOT! There are some more podiums over here. The devils started dancing on it after the flame dancers are done with their performance.
The song "Celebrate Tonight" (not so sure about the title but its the song used in some beer ad) was playing and at 9pm, 3 shots of confetti was opened above us. The showers of red, white and silver confetti.. Absolutely dreamy. YAY!!! So fun!!!
The only regret was that I didn't stay for the fireworks after the countdown coz I'm just so tired.
But anyway,

wah... seemed like u had lots of fun last nite... i was tinking of where to go ut esplanade sumhow did not occur to me... lol... well, there's always nxt year... :P
btw, wan watch bewitched? den drag jo n e three of us go watch lar... i nearly watched it last nite... den remembered jo was asking...
