The Butterfly Effect

I picked up a copy of SpaAsia May/June.

I was attracted at some of the articles I caught a glimpse of.. Wellness, Lifestyle... nice pictures. (I'm a sucker for nice photographs... anything with nice photos are... NICE!)

However, something the editor wrote on in his letter addressing readers caught my attention.

In 1972, Lorenz asked: "Does the flap of a butterfly's wings in Brazil set off a tornado in Texas?" Theorectically it does. Physicists call it Chaos Theory. But what is chaos if not a state of instability waiting for change to ultimately effect a state of equilibrium to happen? This is what I choose to distil from the theory. Though I know it is essentially more complex than my simplistic interpretation, I believe looking at it from this simpler level could do far greater good in my case. In that way, at least I know I can help shed more light and make more sense. The flapping of the butterfly wings represents the small does of change that we should start making.

...

Only then great things can happen.
