The M Curse
It surprised me that, even though I had thought about this frequently, I never had once put it down in words.
I believe that marriage is the curse of individual identity.
This is unacceptable.
I’m surrounded by a lot of married couples. Yes, there’s a generation gap between my office co-workers. I’m no stranger to married life stories. But what struck me most about these stories is…
All the “I” became “We”, “Our”
Ms becomes Mrs Husband’s family name
Each of them has an invisible curfew
Inevitably, those with children can’t stop talking about them
Where did the fun loving, free spirited individual go?
Marriage has also long been rumored to be a romance killer.
I’m sure we’re no stranger to “He’s a 180 degrees change after marriage…”
With all these odds stacked against, who needs to get married?
At this day and age, we’ve evolved to be sufficiently independent women that we no longer needs to get married.
So what if there’s this issue of the biological clock? Who needs to have kids?
We might want to have kids, but do we really need them?
We might want to get married, but do we really need to?
