Go Slow

I got an epiphany.... but at the price of 4 tooth extractions.

After the extractions (which are surprisingly pain free), the speed with which I eat my food shifted drastically from a gear 5 to gear 1. Hard foods are a no-no. So I had to bid a teary farewell to my dearly beloved Ikea Chicken wings and hazelnut chocolates.

As I ate so slow, I get tired of eating after awhile. I’m by no means a patient lady and having to spend 5 minutes chewing each semi mouthful of food for really put me off eating. This is when I realize.. (to my surprise!), I feel as full as I do eating a full meal as compared to eating half or even slightly less then half the portion!!!

Cost savers rejoice! World Food Activists Rejoice! Everyone do the Kallang wave!

In the wonky logic sense:
Think about it… Just be eating slow.. real slowly, not only can we save cost at the individual level.. but if the whole nation.. wait.. the whole WORLD do it.. we would have solved the problem of food scarcity. *mwahaha*

The only grouse would come from slimming centers and chain-store gyms. Being naturally thin, no one would require their services!

However, in this busy 24/7 rush hour society, perhaps we don’t have the luxury of taking our time through lunch. I see my colleagues eating at their desks, rushing through their lunch so they can get back to work.

What would it really take… for us to slow down?

Haha, wistful day-dreaming aside, one of the good things that came out from this experience is that, since I’m not eating much less, I can indulge in my ice-cream cravings guilt free. =p (well, that’s one of the few things I can eat easily anyway)

And since I'm on the topic of food and indulgence ... check out what I found in my camera! Long forgotten foodies! *drool*
