Sex and The City

I have very mixed feelings with regards to this movie. Overall, it felt like watching three episodes of Sex and The City TV drama joined together to one long long movie. Although the whole movie is sprinkled with bimbotic moments which left my eyes rolling, I'm also pleasantly surprised with the take-aways I had from it.

For a start, this is one of the few movies out there, in my opinion, that celebrates feminine friendships. I watched this movie on one of my worse days of the week and entered the cinema grouchy and pissed off. But I thank my dear gal friends who understood my mood and stood by me throughout the time I took to bounce back. (Thanks for not murdering me babes!)

And I'm sure, with unanimous agreement from all women, that the fashion and confidence from the women in the show is very much an inspiration in itself.

Finally, the small thoughtful snippets Carrie voices out to the audience at the end of every TV episode as well as the end of the movie is the gem of the movie itself. Thoughtful, insightful. It almost makes up for the candy floss fluff at the first part of the movie. Perhaps my greatest takeaway is to learn not to judge before experience.

And yes, I suppose I would like to get my hands on the whole TV series. Haha. OMG, did i just say that?

Girl Power! Cheers to my inner bimbo!
