A Trip to the Doctor’s
Just came back from the doctor’s clinic after an hour plus wait. Usually, just the thought of visiting the doctor is enough to cure me. Or if that fails, sitting in the doctor’s waiting room will. But sadly, not today.
I swear that bomb shelter is at least 20 degrees Celsius and has effectively cut me off from the rest of the civilization as it blocked off all the reception from my Ericsson. So I had to sit in a corner busy watching.
Watching TV
Watching the other patients (discretely I hope)
Watching my toes turn blue... then black
Watch myself... trying not to sneeze too loud and scare off the other people.
Finally the nurse called me, “Adeline! Tan Adeline!” (she pronounced as adder line)
I stood up, went to the counter.
“Yes?”
“Your turn next.”
“Er ok”
*turns and goes back to sit*
(10 minutes later)
*ding ding*
“Tan Qiao Wei Adder Line! Your turn!”
The doctor’s quite funny.. in a not so funny way. hehheh
“Is your work environment very stressful?”
“Sometimes.”
*Doc nods knowingly to himself*
(I look very stressed? My hair messy? Eyebags? Dark circles? Do I look psychotic?)
“This morning when I sneezed, there are traces of blood.”
“Is it fresh blood or dried blood?”
“Er… Don't think I can tell?”
*The Doctor laughs to himself*
“Breathe…”
(Ade tries)
“Take a deep breath”
(!@#%!@ I got blocked nose la uncle! *tries anyway.*)
“Again”
*almost chokes*
(Where got pple take such fast deep breaths?!?!)
“How’s your office like?”
“Aircon very cold, air abit stagnant”
“They got carpet?”
“Huh? Ca.. er ya..”
“Hmm..” *Doc thinks for awhile*
“I’m giving you two days MC. To stay away from your work environment awhile. I think you got a sinus problem.”
(whoa, stay away from my work environment lol. so serious. Officially allergic to the office?)
“I’m giving you medicine for running nose, headache and cold. *pause* Are you married?”
“Nooo~” (what a sudden question. So out of pt!)
“Ok.. so any chance that you’re pregnant?”
“HUH! NO!”
*Only the Doctor laughs*

*Ade turns to leave the room*
“Work hard ok?”
“Er, ok. Thanks.”

So after wasting close to two hours, I came out with all my symptoms worsened.
Worse cold, worse headache, blue toes.
And a much thinner wallet.
Ask me again why I hate going to the Doctor's.
