My New Year’s Resolution

I didn’t have this habit of making new year resolutions but I suppose there’s always a first time.

Lets see…

1) Learn something new
Was thinking of learning flash all over again. *this is a big hint to somebody* But there’s the problem of getting the latest Macromedia software. (Its quite an investment for leisure purposes) And there’s no current project for me to use as a learning case. Aww

2) Learn a new language
Technically not really new. But I’ve been meaning to take up Japanese again. Yes, probably I might be able to source for a language school. Or perhaps... self study! That’s more challenging. (and more prone to failure)

3) Inject some lady-ness into myself
I get constant reminders to be more lady-like. That I’m too chor lor.

“Wear more skirts”
“Can you put on make-up more often?”
“eh.. dun jump about. Walk properly”
“aiyo.. kickboxing? Can learn something more demure?”
“How come you don’t paint your nails”

OMG… How come being a girl is so t.r.o.u.b.l.e.s.o.m.e. I thought of starting with something simple.

Nails.

Now what could be more simple then that?
But I am so wrong.
I checked out a list of things you need for a manicure
online.
WTH.
  • Nail Polish Remover or Nail Polish Remover Wipes
  • Cotton Pads (not cotton balls . . . those are too linty)
  • Nail File
  • Extra Fine Emery Board or Professional Manicurist Emery Board
  • Bowl of Warm Water
  • Scented Oil or Salt
  • Table Lamp
  • Cuticle Oil
  • Orangewood Stick (a soft wooden stick)
  • Nail Scissors
  • Hair Dryer
  • White Block Buffer
  • Base Coat Polish or Ridge Filler Polish
  • Color Polish
  • Nail Polish Solvent or Nail Polish Thinner
  • Top Coat or Sealant

I only got as far as cutting my nails very short. Period. I don’t even wanna think of what does it involve trying to learn makeup.

*Gulp*

I think its better not to have new year resolutions.

Lolz. Perhaps just live a day at a time. Yep.

Follow ur instinct.
Live ur dreams.
Have your mochi ice-cream.

  • Cute..I like the way you express your new year resolutions. I guess resolutions always didnt come the way we wanted..I guess I have to do it this way then...

    My New Year "resolutions":
    -Get fatter
    -Grow shorter
-Do not buy any more hair care products
    -Do not be vain
    -Do not be punctual
-Do not work out if time constraint
-Do not be a nice girl
    -Do fling whenever possible

Perhaps by setting resolutions this way, the outcome would always come opposite anyway... =)

  • LOL! That's Miwa's way of defining new resolution - something that will not be done!

I want to get my driving license by June!

Hope we see through our resolutions!
