Eye To The Telescope

I was captivated by the catchy tune and soulful, unique vocals of KT Tunstall when I had my daily dose of Class 95 in the morning.

I googled to find out more about her and to listen to her song once again... Boy, am i surprised with what I read.

"When she was young she played the flute and piano and learnt to sing by listening to a tape of Ella Fitzgerald. Her favourite album was The Never Ending Story soundtrack and when she started writing songs they were self confessed schmaltzy love nonsense.

Luckily at 16 she had a change of heart, taught herself to play the guitar from a busker’s book and moved to the USA. ..................

She likes to think of herself as the musical love child of Joni Mitchell and Tom Waits and she's well on the way. Her songs have an earthy beauty that rely heavily on blues and country roots. She can also write a great pop hook and has a voice that can stretch across a variety of styles. Best of all she doesn't sound like anyone else but herself."
